Agistment

Twisted Lock Alpacas is proud to offer agistment services. Our ranch is a unique piece of hidden treasure - an idyllic paradise located on 6 beautiful, rolling acres. The ranch was built in 1946 by Theodore Kosloff, a Russian ballet dancer, silent film star, and choreographer for many of Hollywood's most lavish and well-known productions.  Kosloff lovingly designed, oversaw, and played a big role in handcrafting the estate, replete with stunning, custom stonework, and hand-carved wooden beams. It was once described thusly: "If Prince Charming were a cowboy, this would be his castle."

The grounds are double fenced, and protected by a pair of Great Pyrenees and a pair of Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mixes - our Livestock Guardian Dogs - in addition to our Border Collie (Shadow Buddy), our Great Dane (Lucky), a Black Lab (Sadie), white Pomeranian (Cujo), and last but certainly not least, our Chihuahua (BonBon). We have ample room for separation of our herd into groups by gender or feeding requirements, or for weaning, quarantine, or medical reasons. There's a full-time ranch crew, and your alpacas will get the same love, attention, and care that our own alpacas receive.

Our alpacas are kept on dry lot, and are fed quality alpaca pellets, free choice minerals, and all the orchard grass they care to eat. Alpacas which have difficulty maintaining weight are given alfalfa or other dietary supplements as needed. Fresh water is provided at all times, and we scoop poop daily at a minimum.

We have a 10 camera digital security system, which allows us to monitor the grounds and the animals at all times. We can even log in remotely to check on the animals at all hours of the day and night.

Our alpacas are well socialized, receiving as much human interaction as time, common sense, and their individual temperaments allow. Halter and show training are offered at reasonable rates, as is transportation to and from shows. We will also show your animals for you, if you so desire. All you have to do is pick up your ribbons!

Visiting your alpacas becomes an even more rewarding experience when you arrive to find them happy, friendly, and well-cared for. Our current pricing is $3.75 per day, per alpaca. This includes routine shots & worming, and toenail trimming.
