Herdsires

Patagonia's Tehuelche is a magnificent beast. Tehuelche's sire is Patagonia's
Neruda, who has sired numerous national champions - Tehuelche being no
exception. Tehuelche won color champion at the 2005 Futurity Show and Sale. He
is extremely dense and crimpy, yet retains a fineness and handle rarely seen in
true blacks. Tehuelche was the highest-selling alpaca at the Belleauwood Auction
this year. He has been bred to a number of females back east, and his first
crias are just about ready to hit the ground. We expect nothing but the best
from this fine specimen! His West Coast Introductory breeding fees are $3500,
and breedings are limited. In the spring, Tehuelche will be making a trip
eastward for a stint at Twisted Lock Alpacas East.
Sequoia
is a beautiful medium fawn suri. His lock structure and density are unsurpassed
- traits he's sure to pass on to his crias. Sequoia has amazing presence. You'd
think he'd sired every animal here, the way he parades around like a proud papa.
As it turns out, he did sire one animal here - Coori's 2006 cria, who is a
gorgeous white male with incredible conformation, that we are currently prepping
for the show circuit. Sequoia has a perfect bite - rivaling that of much younger
alpacas. You'd never know from his bite that he's 6 years old! Sequoia was only
shown once, at AlpacaFest West 2003. He took the blue ribbon, naturally!
Breedings to Sequoia are $2500. Sequoia is also for sale for the insane bargain
price of $10,000.
Selecting
the best herdsire for your female alpaca is critical to producing award-winning
crias. At Twisted Lock Alpacas, we know a good thing when we see it. With
perfect conformation, excellent luster, beautiful head shape, phenomenal
phenotype, and those prized, tightly-penciled suri locks, Sir Keymaster of
Twisted Lock is a real eye-catcher! Having taken a blue ribbon at the New Mexico
State Fair and Alpaca Expo, a red ribbon at the ABR Fall Festival Alpaca Show,
and a blue ribbon at AlpacaFest West, Keymaster is well
on his way to a prestigious show and breeding career. We've decided to offer a
limited number of breedings to this handsome guy at the insanely low
introductory rate of $500 each. This price is only good through June of 2007, so
reserve your breedings now!
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Sir Keymaster passed away at about 11:30pm on
December 23rd, 2006. It was a heartbreaking loss, and
his
passing has left a huge hole in our show and breeding programs, but most
importantly, a hole in our hearts. This guy had it all - including personality,
spirit, and likeability that have left an indelible mark on our lives. Sir
Keymaster will forever hold the key to our hearts. His picture will continue to
grace the cover of our booklet: Alpaca Business - A Beginner's Guide to Early
Success.

Now this guy is gorgeous! Copper Debut of Twisted Lock, with Black Debut as
his grandsire and Trenton de Peru as his sire, turns heads everywhere he goes!
There is such incredible, slippery luster to his coppery-maroon fleece, you
could use his straight-as-a-board topline for a slip 'n' slide! Judge Sharon
Loner deemed him definitely herdsire material, with "tight, pencil locks and
really nice luster..." and proclaimed he was "really deserving of that blue
ribbon." With his lineage, luster, and looks, as well as his blue ribbon
personality, we look forward to big things from this little guy. Copper Debut
has earned blue ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair and Alpaca Expo, and the
ABR Fall Festival Alpaca Show, as well as a red ribbon at AlpacaFest West. We expect
breeding to begin in late 2007.
Update: Copper Debut has been sold to our sister ranch, Twisted Lock Alpacas
East. We still have access to him, and when the
time
comes, we'll undoubtedly breed him to some of our girls. He will probably be
spending at least part of the year here at Twisted Lock in Southern California,
so will be available for breedings. He has incredible bloodlines, and does very
well in the showring, too!
